In 96% condition, we have a late 1944 Production Spreewerke Made cvq (broken die) “a” prefix P.38 Pistol. This is a late 1944 production pistol with the Cog Hammer. The pistol in all matching and is rigged out with a nice bla1944 soft shell holster and a spare mag. The bore is mint and the only appreciable wear is on the front gripstrap. This is a great example of the well known cvq die marking. In the early days of German pistol collecting this was thought to be a different code from cyq, that was perhaps from a another maker. It has been known for sometime that this marking is only the result of a partially broken stamping die, but these pistols are still a desirable variant for collectors. If you need a nice WW2 P.38 or are looking for a pistol from this maker this is a great choice.
